So Far, So Good
Twelve months ago, there was widespread concern that negotiations between cable operators and broadcast TV station owners in the fall of 2008 could break down, resulting in a slew of stations being forcibly removed from cable channel line ups a mere six weeks before the digital broadcast transition.
To date, that dire scenario has been largely (and thankfully) avoided.
For Suddenlink’s part, we honored our pledge to customers and — as a result — successfully reached agreements with the vast majority of TV station owners with which we have contracts.
In a few cases, we’re still negotiating (under temporary contract extensions) and remain hopeful that these final contracts will be successfully concluded just as the dozens before them were.
