What Recession?

Apparently, a slower economy and flagging consumer confidence are not enough to slow down sales of high-definition TV sets:

LCD TV shipments, which represent the bulk of the television category, are set to hit 8 million units in the fourth quarter, up 7.3% from the same period last year, based on a preliminary forecast by iSuppli. For the full year, the research firm expects 37.3 million HDTVs to be sold in North America in 2009 — a 17% increase over last year.
