Six Movies Debut on VOD This Week

A half a dozen new movies are available this week on Suddenlink Video on Demand (VOD). Debuting tomorrow (Jan. 4) are “Salt” and “The Last Exorcism.” “Salt” stars Angelina Jolie as a CIA agent who goes on the run after she’s accused of being a Russian spy. “The Last Exorcism” depicts a troubled minister who lets his final exorcism be filmed by a documentary crew.

On Wednesday (Jan. 5), Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy reprise their familiar roles in “Shrek Forever After,” the fourth film in the popular Shrek animated series. Another animated comedy, “Despicable Me,” debuts Thursday (Jan. 6). Steve Carell voices Gru, the world’s greatest villain until he meets three orphans who see him as a potential Dad.

Carell co-stars with Paul Rudd in another comedy, “Dinner for Schmucks,” which is available on Friday (Jan. 7). Rudd plays a rising executive on the verge of having it all. But first he must find the perfect guest to bring to his boss’s Dinner for Extraordinary People, an event where the winner brings the most eccentric character as his guest. Enter Rudd’s unlikely new friend (Carell). Also launching Friday is “Case 39.” It stars Rene Zellweger as a social worker who finds her fight to save a girl from abusive parents more perilous than she imagined.

Check out these and other titles, where Suddenlink VOD is available, by going to Channel 1 and selecting “Movies.” (A Suddenlink digital receiver is required to access the VOD menu through Channel 1.)
