Vote for Cartoon Network’s Hall of Game Awards

Cartoon Network has announced the voting categories and nominees for its third annual Hall of Game Awards. Vote for your favorites from television, film, music and sports. Winners will be honored Feb. 11 at an awards show hosted by Nick Gannon and Shaquille O’Neal.

Cartoon Network is available to virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.

Nickelodeon Grabs 40 Daytime Emmy Nominations

Nickelodeon earned 40 nominations for the Daytime Emmy Awards, which recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television. Nickelodeon’s “Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness” and “Penguins of Madagascar” each  received eight nominations. The awards will be presented June 23.

Among other cable networks earning multiple nominations were Disney Channel (6), Cartoon Network (3), MTV (3) and Discovery Channel (2). These networks and Nickelodeon are available to all or virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.

Cartoon Network Airing Sports Award Show Tonight

Tonight on Cartoon Network, NBA analyst and basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal will host the second annual Hall of Game Awards. The show will recognize 2011’s most notable sports moments and figures, as voted on by viewers.

Among the athletes expected to appear are Los Angeles Galaxy star David Beckham, New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, World Cup soccer goalie Hope Solo, pro surfer Maya Gabiera, BMX rider Steve McCann and WWE superstar The Miz.

Cartoon Network is available to virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.

Cable Nets Showered With Emmy Nominations

Paced by HBO and AMC, cable networks fared very well in this year’s primetime Emmy Award nominations, reported Multichannel News. HBO earned 104 nominations, led by its miniseries “Mildred Pierce” and “Boardwalk Empire.” AMC received 29 nominations, including 19 for “Mad Men,” which has won three previous Emmys for best drama series. In all, cable networks garnered more than 250 nominations.

Among other cable networks receiving multiple nominations were History Channel (7), Cartoon Network (6), FX (6), Nickelodeon (6) and Discovery Channel (5). These networks and AMC are available to virtually all Suddenlink customers who have what is commonly known as Expanded Basic TV service.
