Discovery Honoring ‘Storm Chasers’ Tonight

Tonight at 9 p.m. CT, Discovery Channel will pay tribute to the three “Storm Chasers” stars who were killed gathering scientific data during last week’s Oklahoma tornadoes. To honor Tim Samaras, Carl Young and Paul Samaras, Discovery Channel will air an enhanced episode of “Mile Wide Tornado: Oklahoma Disaster” that will include highlights and special scenes of all three men from past episodes of the “Storm Chasers” series.

Tonight: ‘Mythbusters’ Looks at Gender

On tonight’s new “MythBusters” episode, “Battle of the Sexes, Part 2,” the team will test a few gender generalizations. 

Tune in at 8 p.m. (CT) to find out whether women really are better multi-taskers; whether men who are lost really refuse to ask for directions; and which gender is better at parallel parking.

Discovery Goes Brainy All Night

Get your science on by tuning in to Discovery Channel tonight.  Starting at 7 p.m. (CT) you can cheer on competing scientists and inventors with a new episode of “The Big Brain Theory: Pure Genius,” followed by “Outrageous Acts of Science.” Then stay put for a new episode of “MythBusters.” 

On “Big Brain Theory,” competitors take on an Olympian challenge: design a robot that can tackle three athletic events.

“Outrageous Acts of Science” takes science to the streets, as amateur and professional scientists conduct experiments and post their exploits online, competing with other backyard scientists to go bigger and bolder.

“MythBusters” burns rubber at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway testing racing myths.

Watergate Documentary Debuts Sunday on Discovery

 

All The President’s Men Revisited” premieres Sunday, 7p.m. CT.  The documentary features archival Watergate footage and recordings, as well as new interviews with the criminals and investigators, and the actors who played them in the 1976 film.

‘Deadliest Catch’ Crew Shares Superstitions

‘Auction Kings’ Marathon Tonight on Discovery

Discovery Previews Show With Pi Day Celebration

Today is Pi Day, the annual celebration of the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. To celebrate, Discovery Channel is previewing its upcoming show, “The Big Brain Theory,” and inviting website visitors to enter a Pi Day contest for a chance to win a prize pack. Discovery Airing ‘Yukon Men’ Preview Tonight

Tonight at 9 p.m. CT, Discovery Channel airs a sneak preview of the second season of “Yukon Men,” which starts Friday, Feb. 22. The preseason special features never-before-seen footage from last year’s harsh winter and previews what challenges await the 200 villagers of Tanana, Alaska, located just 60 miles from the Arctic Circle. Villagers make their living by hunting and trapping game.

‘Auction Kings’ Appraiser Visits Lubbock

Dr. Lori Verderame, one of the recurring expert appraisers on Discovery Channel’s “Auction Kings” reality TV series, recently visited Suddenlink-served Lubbock, Texas. During an event at the Museum of Texas Tech, she placed values on an array of products ranging from pocket knives and pottery to clocks and paintings.

Valderame joined the series in season three, which is airing in reruns this week.
