Two New Titles are On Demand

“Homefront” and “Out of the Furnace,” two crime dramas with family themes, are now available through Suddenlink On Demand, 28 days before Netflix and RedBox.

This inspiring film, based on a bestseller by the same name, follows Liesel (Sophie Nélisse), a girl adopted by a German couple (Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson) who hide a Jewish man (Ben Schnetzer) from Hitler’s army.

New On Demand: ’12 Years a Slave’

 

Oscar-winning drama “12 Years a Slave” (best picture, best adapted screenplay) is now available through Suddenlink On Demand.

From acclaimed director Steve McQueen comes a moving film based on the true story of Solomon Northup, a free citizen, kidnapped and sold as a slave to a ruthless plantation owner. Chiwetel Ejiofor,Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Dano, Paul Giamatti and Brad Pitt star, along with the Oscar winner for best supporting actress, Lupita Nyong’o.

On Demand Films Win Big at Oscars

Several movies honored at last night’s Academy Awards are now available, or will soon be available, through Suddenlink On Demand.

Taking home the coveted Best Picture Award was “12 Years a Slave,” which also earned Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actress for Lupita Nyong’o. You can catch it starting tomorrow On Demand.

Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto received the Best Actor and Supporting Actor Awards for their roles in “Dallas Buyers Club,” now available On Demand. The film also earned the Best Makeup and Hairstyling honor.

The big winner for behind the camera honors was “Gravity,” which received Oscars for Best Director, Original Score, Cinematography, Film Editing, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, and Visual Effects. “Gravity” is currently available On Demand.

Other On Demand titles that took home statues include “Blue Jasmine” (now available) and “Frozen” (coming March 18).

Several other Oscar-nominated films On Demand are “Captain Phillips” and “Nebraska.” Coming soon are “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” (March 7), ”American Hustle,” “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,” and “Saving Mr. Banks” (March 18), “The Wolf of Wall Street” (March 25), “August: Osage County” and “The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug” (April 8), “The Book Thief” (April 11), and ”Philomena” (April 15).

New On Demand: ‘Nebraska,’ ‘Thor: Dark World’

Golden Globe and Oscar nominated drama “Nebraska” and Marvel adventure film “Thor: The Dark World” are now available through Suddenlink On Demand.
