Don’t miss tonight’s “Sweet Sixteen” showdowns on TBS between North Carolina and Ohio (scheduled at 6:47 p.m. CT, 7:47 p.m. ET) – and later, between North Carolina State and Kansas (scheduled at 8:17 p.m. CT, 9:17 p.m. ET).

Online Fare for College Hoops Fans

As the NCAA Tournament heads into the next round of games that will determine the “Elite Eight,” there’s ample material across the Internet to augment die-hard fans’ enjoyment of college basketball’s greatest show.

Wondering which teams will advance? Experts weigh in with their predictions at ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Fox Sports, Sporting News and Bleacher Report. Broadcasting icon Dick Vitale offers his take on Twitter and Facebook.

Once the games begin, fans can supplement their viewing experience with live blogging reports. The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Grantland, all offered live blogging earlier in the tournament and are expected to do so again.

Suddenlink2Go Named Award Finalist

Suddenlink2GOTM is a finalist for trade publication Light Reading’s “Leading Lights Awards.” In nominating Suddenlink’s online video service as “best new service or application” in the cable industry, Light Reading reported:

TV Everywhere: It’s not just for the major MSOs anymore. Suddenlink proved that with the June launch of Suddenlink2Go, an authenticated, Web-fed service that features tens of thousands of full-length TV shows and video clips alongside more than 1,300 movies. Suddenlink’s service offers a model that other mid-tier MSOs can follow …

Leading Lights Awards recognize companies and their executives for outstanding achievements in the communications industry. Last year, Suddenlink’s High Speed Internet MAX 107.0 service received a Leading Lights award for “best new service or application” in the cable industry.

Customers Can Get CNN Live on iPhone or iPad

It’s now easy for Suddenlink customers to watch CNN news live when they’re on the go. They can take full advantage of yesterday’s news that CNN and HLN now are being streamed live for iPhone and iPad users. Suddenlink is among participating cable providers announced by CNN.

To get started, download the CNN app to an iPhone or iPad. Open the app. Choose “Live TV.” Then select “Unlock Live TV: Select your TV service provider.” Select Suddenlink (one of five providers listed on the main page). Enter your Suddenlink username and password – the same username and password you use when logging into your online account at suddenlink.net – and start watching CNN live.

Customers who do not have an online account with Suddenlink can set up one by visiting suddenlink.net, selecting the “Sign Up Now” option — found in the “Log In” box — entering the account number and access code from their Suddenlink bill, and following the registration instructions.

While Suddenlink2GO™ does not yet offer live CNN programming, it does feature a number of CNN video clips. To use Suddenlink2GO at home or away, Suddenlink customers can visit suddenlink.net, sign in to their online account, select one of the Suddenlink2GO links, and then enter “CNN” in the search bar.

Suddenlink2GO Update

 

In its first month, Suddenlink’s Web-based video service — Suddenlink2GOTM — has proven quite popular … and that popularity appears to be growing.

Suddenlink customers streamed video content through Suddenlink2GO more than 630,000 times last month, for a weekly average of nearly 160,000 streams. In addition, the number of weekly streams increased more than 19% in the final week of June compared to the first week.

Total page views for June exceeded 740,000, suggesting customers are viewing slightly more than one page (1.17) before they select and stream videos.

At home or away, Suddenlink customers can visit suddenlink.net, sign in to their online account, select one of the Suddenlink2GO links, and then choose the videos they wish to watch.

Customers who do not have a Suddenlink online account can set up one by visiting suddenlink.net, selecting the “Not Registered? SIGN UP NOW” option — found next to the Log In link on the right side of the page — enter the account number and access code from their Suddenlink bill, and follow the registration instructions.
